When Natalie Cole’s seminal Unforgettable…With Love came out in 1991,
the jazz collection set a new standard for reinventing the Great American
Songbook. The CD, which captured six Grammys, including Album and Record
Of The Year, spent five weeks at No. 1 and sold more than eight million
copies in the U.S. alone.
Yet instead of exploiting the moment and rushing out a second volume,
Cole thoughtfully took a step back, devoted herself to several other stellar
projects including her riveting autobiography, and waited until she felt ready
to return to the songs that fulfill her heart and soul. Releasing Still
Unforgettable on September 9, 2009 the album won two GRAMMYs, one for
Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and Best Instrumental Accompanying Vocalist.
It also earned Cole a NAACP Award for Best Jazz Artist.
And like so many of her fans, she finds the beauty in these songs and a
mystique that is missing from much of contemporary music. “Many
songwriters these days seem to feel that they have to tell it all,”
she says. “They don't allow the audience to imagine. Everything is
so graphic-there is no mystery.” "Conversely, the songs on Still
Unforgettable go deeper into the treasure chest of great American
songwriting, with lyrics and melodies that touch you and soothe you,
appealing to your intellectual side, but most of all, appealing to
your heart..."

After 25 years of gigs in venues all over the world, from the
Village Hall to the Royal Albert Hall, The Ukulele Orchestra of
Great Britain comes to Australia for the very first time.
Bringing only their ‘bonsai guitars’, and the belief that all
musical genres are available for reinterpretation (as long
they are played on the uke!), the Ukulele Orchestra does
away with drums, piano, backing tracks, pitch shifters and
electronic trickery. With a virtuosic collision of raw post-punk
performance and toe-tapping oldies – from Tchaikovsky
to Nirvana via Otis Redding and Spaghetti Western
soundtracks – the Orchestra is routinely met with standing ovations.
Modern exercise in minimal art? Or a rabble-rousing music
hall/stadium rock experience? Either way, you’ll never think
about music in the same way.
‘Plucking brilliant.’

Ireland's most popular "easy listening" entertainer returns to Australia in March 2012.
Daniel has enjoyed tour and chart success in Australia and New Zealand for a number
of years and earned himself a loyal following that stretches across both countries.
Daniel, who was awarded an Honorary MBE in 2002 for services to the music industry,
has an immense chart history with both record and video sales. To date he has had
20 UK chart albums and 14 UK Top 10 music videos. His most current video release
“Songs Of Faith” topped the UK music charts. He is the only artist to feature in
the UK album charts each of the last 20 years! Daniel has also received great
chart success in Australia with his Showtime DVD reaching No. 6 and his album
”The Jukebox Years” reached No. 36 on the ARIA charts.
He may be a superstar, but Daniel remains as excited and enthusiastic about his
work and his fans as when he first launched his career. Daniel has never forgotten
that it was the public who gave him his success in the first place, especially as he
struggled long and hard to achieve his ambitions.
A native of Kincasslagh, Co. Donegal, Daniel's concert appearances have taken him
from London's Royal Albert Hall and Dublin's Point Depot to New York's Carnegie Hall
and Sydney's Opera House, but he still continues to set himself fresh ambitions and
new worlds to conquer.

Eric Bibb records his new album in Louisiana from jp bruneau on Vimeo.
Eric Bibb In duo mode with Swedish guitarist Staffan Astner.
International folk-blues master of songcraft, is returning to his Australian fans.
“Bibb possesses a warmly expressive voice and a fine sense of phrasing.
He shines, too, as a guitarist with a quiet and confident approach” – Downbeat Magazine
“Eric Bibb’s performance at the three day London Guitar Festival at Queen Elizabeth Hall,
was rich in soulful intensity” – Clive Davis, The Times London
“Bibb’s breezy, poetic blues makes for an intimate show, and his smooth laid-back
style is enhanced with some neat guitar licks from Staffan Astner” – Guitar and Bass Magazine
A performance by Eric Bibb is an enriching experience – both musically
and spiritually. Purveying a beautifully realised and deftly
accomplished, soulful and gospel infused, folk- blues, Eric has no
problem melding a traditional rootsy American style with a subtle
contemporary sensibility. As one critic wrote “Eric’s singing and
versatile guitar playing fuses a variety of genres to become a
New World Blues”.
In duo mode for Eric will be accompanied by beautiful Swedish
guitarist Staffan Astner, who is also featured on the live CD
Troubadour Live! Eric performs with matchless ease and a poet's
sensibility. He has criss-crossed the world paying his dues
and absorbing musical influences, picking up countless awards
and nominations, and mesmerising audiences along the way. Eric Bibb
serves up some powerful tunes – aimed as much at the brain as well
as the heart and soul.
"Eric is one of the new, young singers that has appeared on the scene
that, much to my delight, has a great voice, is an excellent performer
and has a great knowledge about the roots of this music" – Taj Mahal
Eric’s new CD “Deeper In the Well” is due for release in Australia in March.

“…still the original and best.” The Scotsman
“This virtuoso band started building crescendos from the start,
each one higher than the last, until the final, shuddering chord
left the roaring crowd breathless and cheering wildly” Evening News
Shooglenifty can be credited with being the founders of what has come to be known
as Celtic fusion or, more descriptively, “acid croft.” A base of traditional
tunes is tweaked, modified and added to with all manner of electronics, loops,
funk bass and the like to create a hypnotic and often irresistible groove.
Shooglenifty are nearer the ambient end of things, with their tunes stretching
out and going down often unexpected byways before returning to the powerful
rhythms that are their forte. Their latest album, two discs, is a mixture of
live and studio recordings, some pieces in more than one version, with most
tracks clocking in at least five minutes.
Live favourite “The Road To Bled”,
which opens and closes the album (the latter an epic nine minute odyssey of a
live performance with Ensemble Kabul), is the standout but everything else is
not far behind. As a band renowned for the reeling intensity of their live shows,
a recorded as live/live album was a good call and Murmichan captures the essence
of the band perfectly.

John Waters returns in his critically acclaimed production Looking Through A Glass
Onion – a homage to the music, mystery and memory of John Lennon.
“Glass Onion” was created by Waters and D’Arrietta back in January 1992 with a
5 week run in a small cabaret room at the Tilbury Hotel in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo
as a two man show and was an instant success.
The opportunity arose to tour a three month season in the West End, London
(1994) which Waters and D’Arrietta quickly snapped up, but not without preceding
with another Australian tour to really cement the format of the show and a trip to
New York to gain Yoko Ono’s approval (eventually received). “Glass Onion” has
since successfully tour the country in 2001/02 and 2004.
The show is not a cut-and-paste biography of Lennon or an emulation of the
original recordings. On stage, with shadows from the lighting arrangement
fluttering over his face as he explores the essence of the man through song
and spoken word, Waters, becomes synonymous with Lennon. He shies away from
imitating the artist, but so emotive is his performance, it lulls the audience
into believing anything is possible. Its part concert and part biography thought
it doesn’t seek to tell the full story of Lennon’s life.

When a guitar virtuoso and one of Australia's most creative composers and
blues guitarists team up, the result is unforgettable. Pete Hawkes is a
composer with the ability to transcend several musical genres and he is
certainly one of Australia's most creative and interesting composers for
acoustic music to emerge in the last decade with over 30 albums covering jazz,
blues, Celtic, and classical music including concertos and orchestral works.
The last couple of years have been an amazing time for guitarist Phil
Emmanuel: not only did he perform to an estimated worldwide audience
of 4.5 billion at the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympics with
brother Tommy, but the recent 50th year anniversary tour with his
younger brother in 2010 was the beginning of the forgotten sons
return to the limelight and recognition that he so undeniably deserves.
One show only, one chance to see Australia's greatest musical talent
in a rare combination in the same show.
